Funeral services for Mrs. Cora S. Johnson will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2020, in the chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale with Reverend Justin Simmons officiating. Interment will follow in Beaver Creek Cemetery, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Mrs. Johnson, 78, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Monday, February 24, 2020 at Rapides Regional Medical Center, Alexandria, LA.
Cora was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved quilting, genealogy, old music and scrapbooking.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Johnson, Jr.; her parents; three brothers; five sisters and her great grandchild.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include her son, Stephen Johnson and his wife, Kelly, of Oakdale; her daughter, Karen Herrington and her husband Eric, of Alexandria; one brother, Gary Sandell and his wife, Maggie, of Calcasieu and one sister, Brenda Sandell, of Calcasieu; ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
