Betty Sue Adams, 78, of Creve Coeur, passed away at 2:52 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2020 at OSF UnityPoint Health Methodist Peoria.

She was born September 4, 1941 in Paducah Kentucky to Orvin and Helen (Hall) Grugett.

She married the love of her life James W. Adams Sr. on December 16, 1961 in Paducah Kentucky. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Kelly Adams of Creve Coeur, one son James W. Adams Jr. of Creve Coeur; three grandchildren, Jonathon, Amanda, Logan, Adams, one sister, one brother; and many nieces, nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

She worked as a tax preparer for many years in the area and served on the Creve Coeur Village Board for 8 years.

Betty loved to knit hand towels, crochet pot holders, work on her puzzle books, and especially her Penny Press favorite fill in puzzle, Places Please.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Pastor Dwight Winnett will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
