Mr. Barron had many occupations including a brief photographic studio partnership with his brother-in-law Victor Piard.

While Mr. Piard married Mr. Barron's sister Joanna, Joseph H. Barron married Mr. Piard's sister, the widow Ann Maria Poole (nee Piard). They were married on June 8th 1863 in Jersey City.
