Our beloved, Joe Louis Rogers was born on the 25th day of January in the year of 1938 in Orlando, Florida. He was born to the loving parentage of Mr. Curtis Rogers, Sr. and Mrs. Delree Griffin Rogers.
He was educated in the public schools of Crisp County where he attended Holsey-Cobb Institute.
As a child, he accepted Christ and united with the Beulahland Baptist Church in Cordele, Georgia. He later rededicated his life and joined the New Mount Olive Baptist Church in Ashburn, Georgia. He was a faithful and dedicated usher until his health declined.
For over 30 years, he was employed by the Crisp County School System. He took great pride in his work and was well respected by his fellow co-workers and the students that he came in contact with on a day to day basis. “Mr. Joe,” as he was affectionately known, also had the distinction of being the “sharpest dressed” custodian in the Crisp County School System.
Joe was loved by many and possessed a giving heart. He was an all around “sweetheart” to his wife. Aside from being a great husband, Dad, and Granddaddy; he was an excellent provider.
On Thursday, May 10, 2018, life on this side came to a peaceful end. His parents, his son, Mr. Dwight Kinchen; his grandson, Mr. Quinten Green, and his sister, Mrs. Glenda Mack, each preceded him in death.
