Donald P. Ewing of Marathon, Florida, a self-proclaimed "pirate born 200 years too late" passed away Feb. 5, 2020 after a short illness.
He was born in Karachi, Pakistan on June 4, 1957 to Catalina I. Ewing of Miami and Leland Guise of Shreveport, Louisiana; adopted son of Fenton C. Ewing of Miami, Florida. Donald graduated from Marathon High School.

An inventor and innovator with a wildly creative mind and intellect, Donald developed and patented the Stimpad medical device.

A world traveler and bon vivant, Donald's first and truest of loves was the sea and all things aquatic. He lived aboard his sailboat, "Dream Catcher".

His interests included shipwreck diving and treasure hunting. Everyone that knew "Don" as he was affectionately known, described him as an unforgettable force of nature who lived his life via his own set of rules, often referring to his experiences and adventures as ''the movie". His dry and salty sense of humor will be missed by many far and wide.

Donald is survived by several half siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles and two most beloved dogs. Burial will be held at sea. May the winds, be forever at his back
