She married Cecil Leonard Calvert on February 17, 1949. She raised her three children and spent her married life happily in Haleyville, Alabama as a loving wife, mother, homemaker, and caring friend. Following the death of her husband, she moved to Vestavia Hills, AL in 1995, where she lived out the remainder of her years, enjoying time as a grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was a devoted member of the Church of Christ, a proud wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend to all. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, and spending time with her family. She was the beloved matriarch of a large family who will miss her gentle spirit, southern charm and class, kind soul, and loving heart.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, husband, and grandson Michael Shaw Hyde.
She is survived by her daughter, and two sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, along with a host of extended family and friends.
Memorial services were February 25, 2020. Burial followed at Prospect Church Cemetery. Mrs. Calvert will be laid to rest along side her beloved husband and parents. She will be greatly missed, but those who love her rejoice in her peace and comfort in the presence with the Lord.
