Actor, Comedian. A star of the silent film era, he is best remembered for his association with Mack Sennett, Harold Lloyd, and Hal Roach. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, he weighed an estimated 300 pounds and was known for playing heavy overweight characters in over 50 films from 1915 to 1919. He made his film debut in the comedy short, "Fun at a Ball Game" in 1915. He is best known for playing the role of 'Schemer Skinny' in several films for Mack Sennett including, "Skinny's Love Tangle" (1917), "Schemer Skinny's Tangle" (1917), "Skinny Routs A Robber" (1917), "Skinny Gets A Goat" (1917), Skinny's Shipwrecked Sand-Witch" (1917), and Skinny's False Alarm" (1917). He is also known for playing in several films with Harold Lloyd playing the 'Lonesome Luke' character in films including, "Luke Pipes The Pippins" (1916), "Luke Rides Roughshod" (1916), "Luke, Crystal Gazer" (1916), Luke's Lost Lamb" (1916), "Luke Does The Midway" (1916), "Luke Joins The Navy" (1916), "Luke And The Mermaids" (1916), "Luke's Speedy Club Life" (1916), "Luke And The Bang-Tails" (1916), "Luke, Patient-Provider" (1916). Besides, the films of 'Schemer Skinny' and 'Lonesome Luke', his other film credits include, "A Night In The Show" (1916), "Shanghaied Jonah" (1917), "Hula Hula Land" (1918), "Pipe The Whiskers" (1918), "Kicking The Germ Out Of Germany" (1918), "She Loves Me Not" (1918), "Young Mr. Jazz" (1919), "Si, Senor" (1919), "Heap Big Chief" (1919), "The Rajah" (1919), and "Bumping Into Broadway" (1919). His last role was in an uncredited role as a 'Fat Butler' in the comedy horror film, "Haunted Spooks" (1920), which was released after his death.
