Lee Campbell, age 90, of Concordia, Kansas, entered into rest on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at the Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, Kansas. He was born on April 22, 1929 in Concordia, Kansas to Charles Kay and Vera (Wright) Campbell.
Lee graduated from Concordia High School and served in the US Air Force.
While stationed in Mississippi, he met Gwendora "Gwen" Moody and they were married on July 5, 1952.
Lee was a certified mechanic and worked for the Chrysler dealership in Clay Center until moving to Belleville where he worked in maintenance for MC Industries until his retirement. Lee and Gwen moved to Concordia after his retirement.
He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, Concordia; Masonic Lodge #128 AF & AM, Belleville; ISIS Shrine, Salina and VFW Post #7515, Concordia.
He is survived by his daughter, Sarah "Kay" Brown (James), Republic; sisters, Carolyn Chaput (Odette), Plainville & Lois Johnston, Concordia; brother, Ron Campbell (Jane), Estero, FL; grandchildren, Cassandra L. Long, Lenexa, Michael G. Loring, Concordia, Jessica L.D. Lee, Lawrence, Shalynn G. Loring, Salina, Jesse L. Brown, Toledo, OH and Ryan K. Brown, Wichita & great grandchildren, Taylor M. Long, Lenexa, Gannon L. Brown and Ensley M. Loring, both of Concordia.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gwendora "Gwen" Campbell, his parents; a daughter, LaVetta M. Loring and a brother, Richard Campbell.
Friends may sign the register book from 8 am to 5 pm, Friday, February 28, 2020 at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia.
It was Lee's wishes to be cremated and a celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, March 2, 2020 at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia. Inurnment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas with military honors conducted by the American Legion Post #76 & VFW Post #588, Concordia, KS.
The family suggests memorials to Belleville Masonic Lodge #129 in care of the funeral home.
