Dale W. Smith, age 82, of Centreville, Ala. passed away February 22, 2020 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2020, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Gertrude Duncan; husband, Richard Watkins; son, Billy Watkins; daughters, Patsy Dockery and Connie Cooley; three brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Kim Watkins of Centreville, Ala.; son, Steven Watkins (Mary) of Elberta, Ala.; brother, Lesley Duncan (Fran) of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; daughter-in-law, Linda Watkins of Duncanville, Ala.; son-in-law, Lynn Cooley of Eoline, Ala.; grandchildren, Justin Cooley, Jason Watkins, Angie Watkins, Hunter Church, and Hollie Church; and six great-grandchildren. Dale enjoyed reading her books, crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. She loved to cook for her family, spend time in her flower garden, and play Bingo with her girlfriends at Country Wood. She dearly loved her church family and the Lord. She was a longtime employee at The University of Alabama where she worked in the Paul W. Bryant Museum and had a deep passion for Alabama football.
