Dolly’s parents moved to Logan County, West Virginia, where she attended high school. She was a coal miner’s daughter and a Daughter of the American Revolution through her father’s bloodline.
Dolly left West Virginia for work opportunities in Michigan, where she met Dewey Jones. The couple moved to Rock Hill, South Carolina, where they worked for many years as managers for Trailways Transportation System. After Dewey’s death in 1981, Dolly continued to work for Trailways Transportation System in Ocala, Florida. Dolly remained a widow until her death.
Dolly is survived by a daughter, Karen Walker Bauer of Sebastian, Florida, a son, Dewey Kevin Jones of Hamilton, Ohio, and a sister, Helen Combs Harshbarger of Hamilton, Ohio. She leaves four grandchildren: Mitchell Jones of Hamilton, Ohio, Lauren Jones of Hamilton, Ohio, Donna Bauer Peters of Indialantic, Florida, and Michael Bauer of West Melbourne, Florida. She is survived by one great-grandson, Nicholas Peters of Indialantic, Florida.
Per her request, there will be no funeral services. Final cremation arrangements are being provided by Fountainhead Funeral Home in Palm Bay, Florida.
