Blake Douglas Ballard, 24, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at his residence in Columbus.
Funeral services will be on Friday, February 21, 2020, at 2:00 pm at Artesia Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff Morgan officiating.
Burial will follow at Memorial Garden Park in Starkville, MS. Visitation will be from 12:00 until service time at the church. Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory, College Street Location is in charge of arrangements.
Blake was born on April 10, 1995, in Columbus, MS. He is survived by his parents, Dr. Gerry and Lisa Jeffcoat, and Douglas Ballard.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and especially loved duck hunting. He was known as a great cook and was loved by many. He was a member of Artesia Baptist Church and attended Mississippi State University and East Mississippi Community College.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his aunts, Debbie Gibson (James) and Anita Phillips (Timmy), numerous cousins, and his beloved lab, Russ. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Pallbearers will be Albert Younger, Cayden Upton, Parker Short, Penn Kennedy, Drew Wallace and Wesley Gibson. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Winstead, Jason Winstead and Coby Smith.
