James Sampson, age 64, of Radcliffe, Iowa, died on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, while vacationing at South Padre, Texas.

James Loren Sampson was born on February 9, 1956, the son of Leonard and Ethel (Weltha) Sampson in Story City, Iowa. The youngest of five children, he attended Colo school, then worked on the family farm.

He was married to Debra (Millard) Sampson for 25 years and raised six children near Radcliffe. He worked as a self-employed truck driver. After retiring from trucking, he enjoyed working for a local farm where it brought back fond childhood memories.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, riding his motorcycle, driving his Mustang, and traveling. His hobbies were working on old cars, trucks and tractors. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy.

He had a laugh that was contagious and could always find the humor in any situation. James had a strong Christian faith throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his six children Kari (Mark) Rahm, Kristen (Justin) Paurus, Joelle (Nathan) Berns, Jamie (Matthew) Butler, Stacy (Philip) McMeins, and Jesse Sampson; seven grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers, Faye Sampson, Larry (Marlys) Sampson, Keith (Linda) Sampson, and Nancy (Jeff) Fouts.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
