Effie Mardell (Wilcox) Smith, age 92, of Norwalk, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Gaymont Nursing Center.
She was born April 29, 1927 in Greenfield Township, OH and was a 1945 graduate of North Fairfield High School and was a life member of the United Methodist Church of North Fairfield.
She is survived by her children, Patsy (Carl) Gray of Norwalk and Debra (Wayne) Coffman of Norwalk; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; siblings, Virginia Coffman of Ashland, Roger Wilcox of Milan and Fred Wilcox of Norwalk; son-in-law, Irvin Wunder of Norwalk; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Smith; parents, Lester and Blanche (Sage) Wilcox; son, Larry Smith; daughters, Linda Wunder and one in infancy; brothers, Ernst, Richard, Walter and Carl Wilcox; and raised by Fred and Frances Seidel.
Friends may call Monday February 24, 2020 from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:30 A.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Burial will follow at North Fairfield Cemetery.
