Ricky C. “Rick” Jones, 61, of Fairburn, Georgia passed away on February 19, 2020.
He was born on February 28, 1958 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Grady and Lela Jones.
Ricky was a devoted husband, father and veteran. He loved racing and was a Nascar fan from an early age. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Fairburn where he served as a deacon and volunteered at the food pantry. He married the former Teresa Gale Laney on May 26, 1984.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents; and his grandparents, Leonard and Beulah Williams.
He is survived by his wife, Gale L. Jones; son, Cory Jones (Toni) of New Orleans, Louisiana; and his brother, William Jones (Nita) of Fayetteville, Georgia.
Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Fairburn with Reverend Evan Hill officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 PM prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, Georgia.
Pallbearers include Donny Thomas, Keith Tyson, Phillip Reynolds, Randy Cunningham, and Mike Dixon, and Larry Chester the deacons of First Baptist Church of Fairburn will serve as honorary pallbearers.
