Mrs. Sarah Genell Shelton, affectionately known as Genell by her friends and family, age 87, of Good Hope, GA, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Pruitt Health in Blue Ridge, GA.

Mrs. Shelton was born on February 17, 1933, in Dallas, GA, to parents, the late Mr. Leonard Tibbitts and Mrs. Leila Burt Tibbitts. She worked as a planner in the engineering department at Southern Bell for many years and loved growing up in Burnt Hickory with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed spending quality time with them. She had a passion for birds and loved bird watching. Mrs. Shelton touched many lives in her 87 years on this earth and will be sorely missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her.

Mrs. Shelton is survived by her children, Janice (Lonnie) Flowers and Randy (Connie) Reynolds; siblings, Josephine Strickland, Loul Tibbitts and Fred Tibbitts. Many other relatives and friends also survive.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shelton was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. James Horace Shelton; son, Billy Reynolds; and sister, Alberine Cleland.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020, at 2:30 PM, in the Chapel at the Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Narroway Baptist Church Cemetery in Dallas, GA.
