Calvin Benjamin “Cal” Baker, 85, of Walkertown, NC passed away peacefully Wednesday February 5, 2020.

Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 3:00PM Saturday February 8, 2020 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Hagan McClellan officiating. The family will greet friends from 2:00PM to 3:00PM Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be held 2:00PM Sunday February 9, 2020 at Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Winston-Salem, NC.

A native of Sumter, SC, Cal was the husband of 27 years to Garland Ann Harper Baker and the son of the late, Benjamin Ernest Baker and Myrtle Reardon Baker. Cal was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a mechanical and electrical engineer with AMP, Inc. for nearly 40 years. Cal and his first wife, Yvonne were co-founders of Providence Baptist Church in Harrisburg, NC serving for over 20 years in various church capacities.

Cal and Garland were married January 2, 1993 and began their life together in Walkertown, NC. He and Garland attend and serve at Our Christian Heritage Church of Walkertown, NC.

Survivors include his wife, Garland of the home; daughter, Donna Ruth Baker and Husband, Alvin Johnson of Charlotte, NC; sons, Larry Dane Baker and wife, Rene D. Baker of Winston-Salem, NC, and Devin Lamar Baker of Walkertown, NC; granddaughters, Natashia Baker, and Chanelle Baker Dunn and husband, Kagen Dunn; great grandchildren, Bethany Clark, Atrayu Clark, and Kherston Cross; step-sons, James Parks Devers and wife, Kimberly Devers of Shelbyville, KY, Keith Allen Devers and wife, Betty Devers of Clearwater, FL, and Charles Brent Devers and wife, Kristie Devers of Georgetown, KY; nine step-grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; and niece, Martha Faye Reed.

In addition to his parents, Calvin was preceded in death by two step-grandchildren; and sister, Betty Fayedell Hunter.
