Sandra Kay Henderson, 69, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Feb. 6, 2020 in Olathe, KS. Sandra was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on January 24th, 1951 to Doris and Wanda Asbery.

She married Leroy Henderson on Dec. 21, 1971. Sandy spent her life primarily as a homemaker, taking care of her daughter Laura and later her grandchildren so that her daughter could work outside the home. Sandra was a devoted wife, grandmother, sister, mother and friend. She was fun to be around and loved to watch movies and spend time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her brother Larry, her mother Wanda Vaughn, her father Doris and her husband Leroy.

Sandy is survived by her daughter Laura and her husband Thomas, grandchildren, Deion and Kobe Poindexter, brother’s; Charlie, and Dave Asbery, sister’s; Sue Hughes, and Sharon Pacheco and her husband. Joe; nephews, David Asbery, Charles Ater, AJ Mosser, Larry Asbery Jr., nieces; Salina Derichsweiler, Savannah Asbery, Lisa Lokken, Danille Asbery and Ashlyn Pacheco, and our dear friends Patti and Randy Carmack.

Sandra leaves behind many friends that loved her as much as we did. Sandra had a heart for people and it showed by everyone who called her friend. She was the first to help those in need, opening up her home and pocketbook even when she couldn’t really afford it, to family and friends when they needed help the most.

We were blessed to have her in our lives and we will miss her dearly, but we are comforted knowing she’s reunited with Jesus and her beloved family and friends that went before her. We would like to thank the countless people who helped us take care of her during her illness; from neighbors, to friends, to our church family. Words cannot express our gratitude.

Service: A Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm on Saturday March 7th at Church of the Harvest, located at 14841 S Blackbob Rd. Olathe, KS. 66062
