Phil was born Friday, January 15, 1960, in Harman, a son of the late Leonard Brown Cooper and Nellie Elizabeth Hedrick Cooper.
Left to cherish Phil’s memory is his companion of thirty-one years, Tamela Kay “Tammy” Burns, two children, Brittany Michelle Cooper and companion, Lawrence Wolfe, of Oldfields and Ryan Phillip Cooper of Harman, six siblings, Bonnie Nelson, Stella Wyatt, Diana Obrien, Donna Carter, Jack Cooper, and Shirley Cooper, and several nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by his faithful Blue Heeler, Baylee Blue, his porch dog, Sadie, and his grandpup, Minnie.
Preceding Phil in death besides his parents were five siblings, Lorraine Hull, Velma “Jane” Scearce, James “Jim” Cooper, Robert “Bob” Cooper, and Wendy Cooper.
Phil was a graduate of Harman High School with the class of 1979.
He had worked for Henderson Drilling, Asplundh, Kermit Butcher, but he spent most of his working career in construction with many local contractors including RVC Construction with whom he was employed at the time of his passing.
He enjoyed his work in construction as well as hunting and fishing.
He was also the owner of the nation’s first breast cancer awareness barn.
He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Phil’s request for cremation was honored.
A time of celebrating his life will be held at the Harman Presbyterian Church on Sunday, February 23, 2020, from 2 pm until 4 pm.
