SPRINGFIELD, IL – Paul E. Spencer, Sr., 63, passed away at 5:00 a.m. Monday, February 17, 2020, at Memorial Medical Center surrounded by family.
He was born September 27, 1956, to James and Rita (Creason) Spencer. He was preceded in death by his father, James Spencer and sister, Katherine Spencer-Jones.
Paul was employed with CR Properties as a painter. He enjoyed his friends, family and most of all his grandchildren.
He is survived by his companion, Pamela Young of Springfield; children, Angela Spencer of Springfield, Dawn Spencer (significant other, Chuck Ealey) of Springfield, Paul Spencer, Jr. of Springfield, Mary Spencer (significant other, Harry Harden) of Taylorville and Michael Spencer (husband, Tyler Rueck) of Decatur and their mother, Cathy Spencer; seven grandchildren, Laken Dees of Taylorville, Destiny Fisher of Taylorville, Lexus Spencer of Taylorville, Kendahl Keathley of Springfield, Emily Keathley of Springfield, Harper Vincent of Taylorville and Noah Ealey of Springfield; four great-grandchildren, Penelope Spencer, Alayna Dees, Brandon Durbin and Meadow Durbin, all of Taylorville; mother, Rita McCarty; brother, JD, Kenneth and Josh Spencer, all of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be determined at a later date.
