He was an amateur ham radio operator and loved to go fishing.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Nancy Walton Frazee; a sister, Anita Carr of Kirksville, MO.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Cindy Shook of Smithfield, NC and Charlotte Kelley and Fiancé Tom Swanson of Buffalo Grove, IL; a son, Charles Kelley and wife April of Hickory, NC; 2 brothers, Daniel Frazee of Las Vegas, NV, James Frazee of Conover, NC; 2 sisters, Ruth Hinz of Spokane, WA and Avis Rainbolt of St. James, MO; 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and special friends, Justin and Donna Houser.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 3 PM at Catawba Memorial Park.
