Sue was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She loved crafts, creating stained glass art and frequenting festivals. She also loved spending time with family and rarely would she miss a family gathering.
Sue was preceded in death by her father William Edward Smith and is survived by her husband, Donald Wayne West; daughter and son-in-law, Courtney Ortiz and Juan Ortiz; three grandchildren, Leland Batts, Calliope Ortiz and Jaxx Ortiz; mother, Dorothy Smith; brother, Nelson Smith.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Jody West, ALS Association of Hampton Roads, Riverside Home Health and Riverside Hospice of Gloucester for all their support for Sue during her fight against ALS.
Visitation will be held at Andrews Funeral Home at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 22, 2020 followed immediately after by a graveside service at 2:00 pm at Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery.
