Harold F. Schrempf, 64, retired machinist
AMESBURY -- Harold F. Schrempf, 64, of Democracy Drive, retired machinist from the GTE Sylvania Co. in Danvers, died Wednesday evening at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport.
He was the husband of Priscilla (Foster) Schrempf and the son of Albert Schrempf and the late Alice (Gibbs) Schrempf.
Mr. Schrempf, born in Newburyport, Feb. 19, 1916, had been employed by GTE Sylvania for 37 years prior to retirement.
He was a messenger for the Northeast National Bank in Amesbury and a 32nd Degree Mason.
In addition to his wife and father, family members include three sons, Harold Schrempf Jr. of Seabrook, N.H., and Larry and Scott Schrempf, both of Amesbury; four daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Spraggins and Mrs. Diane Savageau, both of Newport, Maine, Mrs. Alice Mirabito of Plaistow, N.H., and Priscilla Schrempf of Amesbury; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by three brothers, George of Amesbury, Albert J. of Newburyport and Gordon of Rye, N.H.; and three sisters, Mrs. Alice Rizzo of Kensington, N.H., Mrs. Marion Fortier of Amesbury and Mrs. Evelyn Williams of Freeport, Maine.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Elliott-Cashman Funeral Home, 35 Green St., Newburyport, where calling hours will be observed this evening from 7-9 and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Burial will be in Belleville Cemetery, Newburyport.
