Debra D. Farmer, age 62, of Revere, MO, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 17, 2020 in Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, IA.

She was born June 25, 1957 in Keosauqua, IA, the only daughter of Jack and Kathleen Gregory Horton.

Survivors include her mother, Kathleen Horton of Kahoka; one son, Mikele (Christina) Farmer of Revere; one daughter, Melissa (Jason) Schutte of Newburgh, IN; five grandchildren: Brayden, Landen and Jamisen Farmer and Victoria and Dylan Schutte; brothers, Greg (Janie) Horton of Kahoka and Doug (Lisa) Horton of New Iberia, LA; as well as nieces and nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in her death by her dad; her grandparents; and a brother, David Gregory.

Debra graduated from Revere High School in 1975 and later following a work related injury received her Associates Degree in Art from Southeastern Community College in Keokuk.

Debbie was a hard worker all of her life and had worked at various jobs in the area including the former J & J Convenience Store owned by the Duer family. She was forced to retire in 1999 from Steel Castings in Keokuk following an injury at work.

She loved her cats, her many flowers, and collecting Indian Artifacts. Although she faced various health issues, she enjoyed life. She loved to drive around and listen to her radio, bonfires, camping, and going to Fox and Indian Lakes. She baked all of the time just to have something to give to others and because she was generous in nature. More than anything she loved her family and was fortunate to live close to them where she could see her grandkids and share her cookies daily.
