William M. “Billy” Richard, Jr., 52, of Springfield, passed on Monday, February 17, 2020. He was born on April 18, 1967, in Springfield, to William M. Richard, Sr. and Alice Mae Fisher.

Throughout his life, Billy was a man of many words, most being humorous, some sarcastic and cynical, yet almost all came from the heart with the most possible love, even if it wasn't conventional. Billy was dubbed “Sir Laughs A Lot” at the Knights of the Square Table—he had a special type of comedy, which was probably not fit for television. If ever there was a problem, you could always count on him to help. Tough, loving and reliable, Billy was, and will always be, a man with street smarts and a big heart.

Surviving are his siblings, George A. Richard, Jane Ann Richard, Bertha Jean Richard, and Kelly Sue Richard; his children, Megan L. Spain, Alora D. Richard, and Lakyn J. Richard; his step-children, Kendall Roach and Ashley Roach; multiple grandchildren; best friend, Dartanyon Doss; and a long list of cousins, nieces, nephews, and other close friends and family.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2020, at Butler Funeral Home—Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield.

Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at Butler Funeral Home—Springfield. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
