Funeral services for Charles Roy Childress will be held Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Skyview Baptist Church in Okemah. Interment will follow at the Sand Creek Cemetery near Okemah.

Charles Roy Childress was born April 25, 1940 in Checotah, Oklahoma to Silas Parson Childress and Annie Mae (Weeks) Childress. He passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at his home in Okemah at the age of 79.

Mr. Childress was a resident of the Okemah area most all of his life. He was a farmer and enjoyed collecting trains and especially spending time with his grandkids. On November 16, 1964 in Prague, Oklahoma he married Roberta Joan Lacquement; she later preceded him in death, April 27, 2007.

Also preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters, seven brothers, three grandchildren and son in law, William Haney.

Survivors include his two sons, Wally Childress and wife Sandra of Okemah and Rex Childress and wife Danelle of Okemah; daughter, Judy Haney of Okemah; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Mike Choate, Terry Brownlee, Chris Cole, John Brownlee, Shawn Brownlee and Levi Magness.

Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma and officiated by Rev. David Hamilton.
