Vera” Ruth” Jones, 76, of De Leon and formerly of Georgetown, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2020. She was born April 11, 1943, in Burnet, Texas to Willie Lee Hardin and Vera Lee Broadway Hardin.

Vera and her husband, Calvin Jones, moved to De Leon in 2016. Vera worked in the food service industry for St. David 's Hospital Network until her retirement. She enjoyed shopping and especially going to thrift stores. Her greatest joy in life was being a grandma. She loved the Lord and her family fiercely and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Calvin Ray Jones; son, Hank Lee Jones and wife, Beth; daughters, Karen Jones and Myra Jones and husband, Brad Scott; three half-sisters, Earlene, Gay Nell and Janice; seven grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents and half brother, Kenneth.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 22, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Jarrell First Baptist Church with Pastor Max Johnson officiating.
