Thomas Mario Dawson, age 83 of Cabins, West Virginia passed away on Monday, February 17, 2020 at his home.

Mr. Dawson was born April 24, 1936 in Rawlings, Maryland and was a son of the late Paul Willis Dawson and Margaret (Martin) Dawson. In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by one infant grandson, Rodney Dawson; one great grandson, Alex Dawson; son-in-law, Andy Taylor; one brother, Richard Dawson and one sister, Sue Dawson Hultman. Mr. Dawson was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Leona (Hanlin) Dawson; two sons, Paul (Cathy) Dawson of Perkins, OK, and Thomas M. Dawson, Jr. and companion, Marty of Frederick, MD; four daughters, Teresa (Martin) Bernard of Gilchrist, Oregon, Debra (Chris) Wall of Augusta, WV, Sharon (Mackie) See of Durgon, WV and Cindy Taylor and companion Rodney of Moorefield, WV; twenty-one grandchildren; forty-nine great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren and his furry friend, Ruff.

A dear Husband, Father and Grandpap. His absence is a silent grief and his Life a beautiful memory.

Mr. Dawson retired from Adell Polymers Inc in Petersburg and later worked for Alts Furniture in Petersburg. He attended Antioch Church of God.

Family will receive friends Thursday, February 20, 2020 from 11:00 – 1:00 PM. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of the Schaeffer Funeral Home with the Rev. John Goldizen and Tom’s son, Rev. Paul Dawson officiating.

Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Arthur, WV.
