Paul Ray Haynes, age 72, of Somerset, Ky., passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center.
He was born on January 22, 1946 in Somerset, Ky. to the late Willard Haynes and Elizabeth Young Haynes. He was a welder for 12 years at Lear Siegler and worked many different jobs at Coca Cola for 25 years. He enjoyed watching UK Basketball, Cincinnati Reds and NASCAR Racing. He enjoyed playing games on his computer and enjoyed beating anyone who challenged him to a game of checkers. He attended Monticello First Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Twila Brown Haynes, whom he married on December 30, 1967 at Monticello First Church of the Nazarene; two sons Michael Ray (Tracy) Haynes of Somerset and Derek Scott (Margaret Shawn) Haynes of Dacula, Ga.; one brother Michael Lee Haynes of Burnside; three sisters Linda (James) Hood of Savannah, Ga., Theresa (David) Rice of Somerset and Sharon (Kevin) Rainwater of Nancy; four grandchildren Tyler Blake Haynes, Noah Glenn Kitchen, Jacob Matthew Kitchen and Abigail Marie Haynes; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother Joseph Andrew Haynes; and two sisters-in-law Loretta Jean Haynes and Linda Lair.
Funeral services were held at the First Church of the Nazarene in Monticello, Ky. on Wednesday, October 24 at 1 p.m. with Bro. Bob Duranceau officiating. Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
