Mrs. Reeves was a member of Culpeper Baptist Church where she volunteered for many years in the clothes closet. She thoroughly enjoyed working with children and assisted with the children’s worship at the church. Mrs. Reeves was an avid reader and crossword puzzle solver. While her children were young, she worked with friends to start a kindergarten for employees at the Tuba City, BIA compound on the Navajo Indian Reservation.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Paul L. Reeves; two children, Paul Leslie Reeves (Betsy B.), and Kelly Bonita Lambert (David W.); one sister, Betty Madden (Cecil); six grandchildren, Devin M. Reeves, Sr., Nicholas Reeves (Kinley), Ryan Lambert, Alexander W. Reeves, Paul “Ike” Reeves, and Miles Lambert (Aimee); and four great grandchildren, Savannah M. Reeves, Devin M. Reeves, Jr., Alice K. Lambert and Evan W. Lambert.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two children, William Wayne Reeves and Julie Evelyn Reeves; and two sisters, Barbara Smith, and Kay Stanley.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Culpeper Baptist Church with Pastor Dan Carlton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Culpeper Baptist Church Building Fund &/or Culpeper Baptist Church Endowment, 318 S. West St., Culpeper, VA 22701.
