Mrs. Letha Dale Miles, age 68, was born on July 5, 1951 and passed away on February 18, 2020. She was born in Walton County, Florida to Robert and Edna McCormick Messer.
She was Christian by faith, raised as a member of Community Holiness Church. Letha served her community in numerous ways including being a foster parent with her husband Rabbit for over 100 children. Children were her joy- especially her own, whom she enjoyed cooking for. Mrs. Miles served many years working and volunteering at the Cope Center as well as being a Drug and Alcohol Counselor.
Mrs. Miles was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, W. F. “Rabbit “ Miles, her three brothers, Leon Messer, Lynn Messer and Don Messer, as well as one sister, Mary Sue Whithey.
Letha is survived by two children, Sheldon Miller and wife Rhonda and Carry Ann Truett and two step-daughters, Anna Harvell and husband Craig and Donna Kay Wilson and husband Randy. Mrs. Miles is also survived by nine grandchildren, Sheldane Busito, Zach Miller, Koleman Truett, Celestine Truett, Peyton Hickey, Caroline Hickey, Ray Harvell, Clay Harvell, and Kirstie Wilson. She is also survived by one great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, February 21, 2020 at Community Holiness Church, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Community Holiness Church, 971 Live Oak Avenue West, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435 with Reverends John Richbourg and Ben Barton officiating.
Those serving as pallbearers will be Mickey Messer, Jonathan Messer, Robbie Messer, Kendal Messer, Mark Bird and Nathan Marrow. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Messer and Stoney Messer.
Flowers are being accepted.
Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
