. Michael L. Ewald, 68, of 520 S. 27th St., died at 12:20 p.m. Wednesday in Osteopathic HosJpital after a short illness. He was a retired custodian at the University of Notre Dame. He was born on Sept. 29, 1899, in South Bend. On June 25, 1949, in St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, he married Donna Heimel, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Dale Wayne and Richard Patrick, both of South Bend, two grandchildren; and four brothers, Peter, Sylvester A., Walter and Casimer, all of South Bend. Friends may call in the St. Joseph Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Very Rev. Msgr. Jerome Bonk, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
