She was born May 26, 1936 in Ullin to Miles Mowery and Glenda Egner Mowery.
Kay Sue graduated from Ullin High School in 1954 and earned her bachelor degree in Education at SIU in 1958. She was a longtime member of Cache Chapel United Methodist Church. She taught business at Century High School for 33 1/2 years. She was a well-known softball pitcher for Ullin Girls Softball; she was active in the 4-H and a St. Louis Cardinals and Duke basketball fan. She enjoyed gardening and was known for her beautiful flowers. She loved her family, God, cooking, quilting, and needlework. She was generous, strong, and well loved.
Kay Sue is survived by her children, Karen (Randy) Reagan, Sandra (David) McGill, Kathy Miller, and Rodney Miller; grandchildren, Bradley (Chelsie) Reagan, Kayla (Dylan) Sadler, Jacob (Emily) McGill, Joshua McGill, Jeffery Miller, and Linsey Miller; great grandchild, Murray McGill; sister, Dian (Robert) Enright, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 20, 2020, at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin and from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Friday at Cache Chapel United Methodist Church.
Services for Kay Sue Miller will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 21, 2020, at Cache Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. David Estep and Rev. Dr. Chris Ritter officiating. Interment will follow at Cache Chapel Cemetery.
