Daughter of Coke and Clara Mae (Malcomb) Hunter and was the youngest of eight children, which earned her the nickname “Punk." She attended public school in Statham and graduated from Winder High School in 1941. She married George Dickerson in 1945, and taught school in Clermont, GA. After moving to East Point, GA, she worked for Rich’s Department Store and Delta Air Lines for 20 years. She was a member of Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Dickerson, second husband, Fred Pierson; and her daughter, Carol Chaney. She is survived by her son, Henry Dickerson (Bobbie); four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren.
