Brenda Sue Garrett, 50, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2020, after a short battle with various complications that accompanied an unexpected diagnosis of cancer. She was born in Great Falls, MT and was raised in Colorado Springs, CO before residing in Lakewood, CO.

She was a proud Thunderbird and graduate of Wasson High School and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business from University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Where she later met her husband, Eric, of 27 years dancing at a company Christmas party.

Brenda started her career at Gart Sports as a Human Resource manager and changed course in life after the birth of her children, deciding to devote herself full-time to raising her children. While at home, she received her Master’s degree, and later worked her way to becoming the Senior HR Director of Colorado Visiting Nurses Association, a title that she was proud of.

Personally, and professionally, Brenda cared for others and always wanted to see those around her grow. She loved everyone she met and would walk to the ends of the earth to make someone feel valued and special. Aside from helping others, she loved the outdoors - whether it be hiking a 14’er with a friend, biking 150 miles to raise money for charity, sailing her sloop at Chatfield Reservoir with friends, or simply sitting on her back patio enjoying a cool summer evening with a margarita in hand after a hard worked day. Travel has been a big part of Brenda’s life with her family. She was always seeking palm trees, basking at the beach, and exploring warm waters. Intrigued by the doors, people, and culture of Portugal, Brenda was determined to return as it was one of her favorite destinations.

Faith was important to Brenda. She was an active Catholic, a Eucharistic Minister, and devoted every Thursday morning for 15 years to the OLF Eucharistic Adoration Chapel. Brenda is survived by her husband, Eric; children, Mary and Ben; father, Duane Glaze of Montana; mother, Linda Glaze of Colorado Springs; sister Michele Collard of Texas; father-in-law, Frank Garrett; mother-in-law, Nancy Garrett; sister-in-law, Alicia Moreno; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, a great nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins.

In accordance to the blessed and Catholic life that Brenda led, a Visitation and Rosary will be held Monday, February 3, from 5-8 pm at Mt. Olivet Chapel, 12801 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033. Mass will take place on Tuesday, February 4 at 10 am at The Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception (Allow plenty of time to find parking in pay lots or on the street), 1530 Logan St, Denver, CO 80203 followed by a reception at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 16th & Grant, until 2 pm. She will be laid to rest at 2:45 pm at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 12801 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033.
