Obituary
Ellen Frances Campbell Marshall was born May 23, 1954, in Guthrie, Oklahoma to James and Mary Campbell; she entered eternal life on January 6, 2020. Ellen grew up in Tulsa, alongside her siblings, who deeply grieve the loss of their much-beloved sister.

After graduating from Bishop Kelley High School in 1972, she then attended Oklahoma State University, earning a BS in speech pathology; she soon achieved her masters in the field at the University of Tulsa.

At OSU, a blind date led her to Melvin Marshall, the love of her life. They married and settled in Pryor, Oklahoma, where Ellen worked as a speech pathologist. There, they welcomed their son, Matthew Marshall, now of Claremore. Ellen spent her entire adult life making others happy. Kind of heart and generous of spirit, she devoted her free time and passion to her causes. She worked as a tireless volunteer at Hope Pregnancy Center, where she championed the rights of the unborn. She gave herself in large measure to animal rescue, advocating for four-legged creatures of every variety. She and her family welcomed foreign exchange students into their home, sharing their culture and their love. Ellen found her happiest avocation and friendship in her Mary Kay “family,” where she was recognized again and again as a motivator and supporter of her entire unit. Ellen’s sense of humor endeared her to all; the cornier the joke, the harder she laughed.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents and by her adoring husband.

She is survived by her son Matthew Marshall and his wife, Andi, and by her siblings Melissa Khattak, Dan and Sharon Campbell, Cathy Campbell and Ken Duncan, along with her beloved sister-in-law Grace Jordan, and her close-as-a-sister Molly Carpenter, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom have surety that Ellen’s devout Christian beliefs led her straight into the arms of God as she left her earthly home.

She embraced a favorite quote: “Life is eternal and love is immortal, and death is only a horizon, which is nothing but the limit of our sight.”

Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, January 10, at First Church of God in Pryor, under the direction of Stephens-Key Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Thursday, January 9, at the funeral home. Online condolences can be made at stephens-key.com or on the Stephens-Key Facebook page.
