Josephine P. "Josie" Cannon, 67, of Aurora, passed away February 13, 2020.

She was born December 23, 1952 in Durango, Colorado, the daughter of Theodore and Mary (Trujillo) Barry. She was a graduate of Durango High School. She received an Associates Degree from Ft. Lewis College in Secretarial Science.

On June 16, 1979, she married James Cannon.

Early in her career, Josie was a secretary, working for the State of Colorado and other businesses. Later, she was a housekeeper at the Cherry Creek Nursing Center. Josie was later a resident for 15 years at the Cherry Creek Nursing Center.

Josie enjoyed cooking, making enchiladas and roasting chiles every year. She liked to sing while she was at church. She also enjoyed listening to hymns. Above all, Josie will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife and mother who cherished the time that she spent with her family. While she was at Cherry Creek, Josie was very kind and a friend to everyone that she met.

Josephine is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, James Cannon; son, Paul Cannon; daughter, Karen Cannon; five brothers, Samuel Barry, Danny Barry, Robert Barry, Henry Barry and Anthony Barry; five sisters, Ruth Armendariz, Alice Mosher, Frances Penman, Linda Delgado and Debbie Barry and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by father, Theodore Barry; mother, Mary Barry; and a sister, Elizabeth.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Josie's name to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 900 Broadway, 2nd Floor, Denver, CO 80209.
