Fred Sanders passed away on February 13, 2020 in Fresno, CA. He was born on May 21, 1956 he was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and JoAnn and his brother, Dennis. He resided in Sanger, CA. He was a devoted and loving husband to Norma, an amazing father to Christopher, Brently, Alisa & Andrea, and a wonderful grandfather to Elijah and Natalia. Fred and Norma married on Valentine’s Day and have been together for 38 years. Fred did everything he could to protect his family and worked hard for them every day.
Fred started working for Sanger Police Department in 1988 and retired as a Sergeant in 2014. He was an outstanding police officer to his community for 26 years. He always put his community before himself, without hesitation. Fred had a presence everywhere he went and worked hard to help his neighbor.
Fred was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s 7 years ago. From the very beginning he fought with strength and dignity. Despite enduring hardships, Fred never failed to make his family smile and laugh with his dry sense of humor.
Although Fred’s battle has come to an end, his legacy will live on forever. He was laid to rest on February 24, 2020 in Sanger, CA.
