He was a Southern Baptist Minister, having graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1946. He was a minister and teacher at Yorba Linda School, retiring in 1978. He was also a Rotary Club member in Riverside.
Jay is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruth Dixon of Riverside; his children, Carolyn Whitaker and Dave Dixon, both of Riverside; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 8, 2007 from 1pm to 4pm at Pierce Bros. Crestlawn Mortuary, 11500 Arlington Ave. in Riverside.
Service will take place Monday, July 9, 2007 at 1pm at Pierce Bros. Crestlawn Mortuary with interment to follow. Services under direct of: Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Mortuary Riverside, CA., 92505
