Elda L. Prince
Friends of the H. L Prince family, former residents here, were saddened to learn of the tragic death of Elda L. Prince, 16 year-old Parker High School student, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Harold Prince of Parker and granddaughter of Mr. & Mrs. H. L. Prince. H. L. Prince operated the Hassayampa Barber shop on Center Street for many years before moving to Scottsdale. Funeral services for the high school girl were held Monday in the Assembly of God Church in Cottonwood with burial in the Cottonwood Cemetery.
NOTE:
Elda Prince was murdered by her fiancée Jimmy Lee Gray. He was convicted of the crime and served seven of a twenty year sentence. Upon his parole, he went to Mississippi, where he murdered a three year old girl and ended up paying for that crime in that states gas chamber in 1983.
