J.B found a lifelong joy in coaching and mentoring young people. He retired in 2000 with a final record in basketball of 803 wins and 327 losses.
While working at Austin High School, J.B. met the love of his life, student teacher, Joy Allbritton. They married and became parents of two children: Julie and Jeff.
J.B and Joy were married for 55 years until Joy's passing in November 2019.
In his spare time, J.B. enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed fishing and relaxing in the countryside.
He is survived by his daughter: Julie Pope and her husband Greg; son: Jeff Oldham and wife Monica; and seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
J.B. is preceded in death by his devoted wife Linda Joy Oldham.
He will be greatly missed by his family.
