She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd David McDaniel, Sr.; a son-in-law, Russ Sittloh, a sister, Marie Price; and four brothers, Billy Farish, Alfred Robinson, Norman Robinson, and Shirley Farish.
Geneva was the first female Deacon at Lebanon Presbyterian Church in Greenwood, VA where she was a youth leader and teacher in Sunday School and Bible School. She also directed and authored many of the Christmas Pageants performed by the youth. She was also a member of the JOY group at Antioch Baptist Church in Scottsville, VA and delivered annual sermons during their Senior Week as a Lay Speaker.
Her life was devoted to Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior and her fervent belief and love to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and a multitude of friends. She had a lifelong love of poetry and authored many volumes which she shared with her family, friends, and church.
Surviving her are six children, Lloyd David McDaniel, Jr. and his wife, Dreama, of Waynesboro, VA, James McDaniel and his wife, Anjanette, of Largo, FL, Shirley Edward "Pete" McDaniel and his wife, Charlotte, of Charlottesville, VA, Charlotte McDaniel Beagle and her husband, Collins, of Charlottesville, VA, Barbara "Bobbie" McDaniel Sittloh of Warrenton, VA, and Joanne Goolsby and her husband, Earnest, Jr., of Crimora, VA; fifteen grandchildren, Tina Ortiz and her husband, Nickolas, of Waynesboro, VA, Lloyd David McDaniel, III and his wife, Linda, of Mt. Pleasant, TX, Trena McDaniel of Lake Zurich, IL, Linda Ellis of North Carolina, Jeff McDaniel and his wife, Kathy, of Staunton, VA, Jerry McDaniel and his wife, Dana, of Waynesboro, VA, Lori Rankins and her husband, Curtis, of Charlottesville, VA, Todd McDaniel and his wife, Cathy, of Ruckersville, VA, Beth Horn and her husband, Randy, of Palmyra, VA, Bryan McDorman of Warrenton, VA, Chuck McDorman of Deltona, FL, Kelly Schoen and her husband, Preston, of Warrenton, VA, Travis Goolsby, Amanda Goolsby, and Rachel Goolsby all of Crimora, VA; thirty great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Pete Farish and his wife, Gladys, of Crozet, VA; a sister, Bessie Fitzgerald and her husband, Sidney, of Greenwood, VA; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Farish, of Greenwood, VA; and a brother-in-law, Nelson Price, of New Ellenton, SC.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 1, 2006 in the Lebanon Presbyterian Church, Greenwood, VA with the Rev. Jewell-Ann Parton and the Rev. Whitney Critzer officiating. Interment will follow in the churchyard.
