Born in New Rockford, North Dakota to Nels and Mary Kjos, the second of four children. Donna attended school in New Rockford through her high school years. She is best described as having a fun and adventurous spirit from childhood through her adult life.
Donna had a strong faith and loved listening to and singing her favorite hymns. She taught Sunday school and was active in PTA at McKinley Elementary School as well as room mother for her children.
Donna loved to go out and dance as often as possible. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and trips to the Casino. She will also be remembered as possibly one of the most loyal Seahawks fans ever!! Even through her struggles with chronic illness in the past years, she loved to join in on all family gatherings whenever possible. Family is what she considered her most treasured accomplishment.
Donna raised 5 children with Clayton Iverson in Tacoma, Washington. Melodee (Martin) Gaertner, Clayton Jay Iverson, Mary (John) Jamison, Chris (Jenny) Iverson, Curtis A. Iverson. She later was married to Robert Russell for 19 years. Donna is a proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Donna is preceded in death by her husband Robert Russell, son Chris Iverson, Granddaughter Kaelee Jamison, Grandson Michael Iverson, brother Dean Kjos and her parents Nels and Mary Kjos.
Donna was surrounded by her family and friends for her final days and although our hearts are deeply saddened in the loss of our mother, we know that she is now at peace.
We give our heartfelt thanks to our family and friends for their ongoing support. And we are deeply thankful for the amazing care received by the staff and volunteers at Hospice House.
