Richard D. Valentine, 88, of Parkersburg, WV died Sunday February 16, 2020 at Elmcroft of Marietta, OH. He was born in Parkersburg, WV a son of the late Earnest and Letha (Deem) Valentine.

He retired from the Teflon Division of DuPont after thirty-seven years. He was a United States Army veteran having served in the Korean War as a combat medic. Richard was a member of South Parkersburg Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years Shirley (Moore) Valentine; two sons Rodney Valentine (Jean) of Florida and Jeff Valentine (Sonja) of Parkersburg; and two grandsons Jeffery Valentine II and Jacob Valentine (Emily).

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers; and six sisters.

Services will be Wednesday 11:00 AM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Adam Pfaff officiating.. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens with military honors by American Legion Post 15. Visitation will be Tuesday 6-8 PM.
