President of The Paul R. Shuttleworth and Company Inc, an Engineering firm.

He later married Isabel F Cook, but they divorced in 1973)

NEIGHBORLY THOUGHTS:
Paul Shuttleworth was my neighbor next-door on Shelton Road in Nichols. My parents had moved to Nichols in 1952 and rented the bottom half of the house at 170 Shelton Rd. We were neighbors for about eight years at which time I went off to college.
Paul and his family, Dorothy, his wife, and three girls Patricia, Muriel, and Nancy, owned the house next-door at 158 Shelton Rd., which is now a $1 million home, owned by the Saint Catherine's Roman Catholic Church.
Paul was a very successful businessman, having owned the Paul Shuttleworth Abrasives Company, located on Reservoir Avenue in Trumbull. He was always working in his garage developing abrasive cutting wheels and I, like a good neighbor, walked over to visit with him quite often. He sort of took me under his wing and showed me all about what he was developing.
Paul was very active and supportive of the Nichols United Methodist Church, he usually sat in the back by himself. He was very friendly to everybody.
My sister, Nan Irene Overhiser Leach, was also best friends with the eldest daughter, Patricia, who was only about 9 months older. She was devastated when we learned about her tragic loss in a United Airlines crash in 1955.
