Mrs. Geneva Childs Harris King was born January 1, 1940, to the late Mrs. Sallie Mae Bentley Childs and the late Mr. Allen Childs, Sr., in Thomaston, Upson County, GA. She attended school in the Upson County school system and graduated from Drake High School. At an early age, she joined the Fellowship Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to church and hearing the preached word of God. In her later years, she joined the Mother's Ministry. In her young womanhood, she met and married Mr. O.C. Harris. To this union, five children were born. To help support her family, she was employed by Thomaston Mills. Her husband, O.C.., preceded her in death. Geneva met Otis King, Jr., which started a long and loving relationship. On July 7, 2009, they were joined in marriage. He preceded her in death on July 17, 2009. In her leisure time, Geneva enjoyed going to church, spending time with her children and grandchildren, cooking, working with her flowers, listening to music, and watching her gospel music programs and her stories. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis King, Jr. four children, Angela Denise Harris, J. Harris, Kathy E. Harris, and Kenneth B. Harris; one sister Carolyn Diggs; and one brother, Willie James Childs. On Friday, February 7, 2020, the Lord called her name. Her spirit took flight and went home to rest. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. She leaves to cherish her memory: one daughter, Mrs. Kay (Lorenzo) Howell of Thomaston, GA; fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; one son in-law, Mr. Johnnie Ray Harris of Thomaston , GA one sister, Mrs. Betty (Eddie) Fagan of the Salem Community; four brothers, Mr. Bobby Lee Childs and Mr. Allen Childs, Jr., both of Thomaston, GA, Mr. Larry (Brenda) Diggs, and Mr. Freddie Diggs both of Atlanta, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mrs. Georgia Pearl (Henry) Brown , Mrs. Shirley Stackhouse, Mr. Grant (Shirley) King, and Mr. Issac King all of Thomaston, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Funeral Service were held Thursday, February 13, 2020 1:00 P.M. Friendship Baptist Church Interment Southview Cemetery
