Cyndi James, daughter of Royal and Faye, sister, aunt, friend of so many, left this world alone. That crisp Easter morning, the sirens were deafing on our street shortly around 10 a.m. or before. Cyndi's body was found in the garage, and the police needed to summoned. That is what we all heard. I watched them whisk down the street. Cyndi had retired from Eli Lilly Corporation a few years before this happened, she was horribly depressed. She won the case but ultimately lost the battle. I don't know if she was addicted to drugs when she was involved in the case, but it sure was obvious after she won that she was. It was her ultimate down fall. She was in the process of losing her home, the home where she had grown up, the home she bought from her mother, and the home where her father had died from a heart attack when she was only 9. Cyndi was well loved in our neighborhood. I took her food many times while she was fighting for her disability. Cyndi's depression was more obvious most days, than not. She often talked about ending everything but most of us, never took her seriously. After the loss of her mother and the news about losing her home, I just think that it was more than she could bear. She had a roommate who helped her sometimes, but she asked him to moved out on Thursday before she died. I think that must have been when she decided what she was going to do. She had the house partially packed up, but so much more needed to be done.

Rest in peace dear Cyndi, the world is truly lost without your light!
