Clarice Marilyn Bock, 70, of Duluth, MN passed away Monday, January 6, 2020 in St. Luke’s Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born on August 25, 1949 in Cloquet, MN to Theodore and Lydia (Carlson) Maki. She grew up in Kettle River, MN and graduated from Barnum High School.

Claire married Thomas Bock on November 29, 1969. They raised two children, Deborah and Theodore in Duluth.

She worked at the Duluth P.D. where she retired as a Crime Analyst in 2014. She also had been actively involved with the American Cancer Society after becoming a cancer survivor.

Claire loved traveling, spending lots of time in Florida and Las Vegas. Also, going to Finland to meet family. She also loved to read and work on family trees on Ancestry. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family, especially at the family cabin!

Claire is preceded in death by her husband Tom Bock; both parents; her brothers Donald Maki and Jim Maki; and many in-laws.

Claire is survived by her children Deb (Phil) Mannon and Ted Bock; grandchildren Maddie Peterson, Caleb Mannon, Jordan Mannon, Camden Bock and Cale Bock; brothers-in-law Chris Bock and John Bock; as well as many other loved family members.

The family wishes to thank the St. Luke’s Hospital ER and the 6th floor ICU nurses and doctors who “cared” for Claire.

Gathering of family and friends: 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. memorial service Wednesday, January 15, at the Cremation Society of MN Chapel, 4100 Grand Ave., 218-624-5200.
