Nellie Brisendine Amos, 88, of Ocean City, N.J., formerly of Pinch, W.Va., died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005, at Shore Memorial Hospital Somers Point, N.J. Born in Walton, W.Va., she had lived in Pinch before moving to Ocean City in 1959 Mrs. Amos enjoyed baking and gardening and had attended Trinity United Methodist Church, Marmora, N.J She was preceded in death by her parents, Sarah E. (Harper) Brisendine & Samuel E. Brisendine; husband, Harold Amos; a daughter, Sharon Singer; and granddaughter, Joyce Young. Surviving are her children and their spouses, Janet M. and Frank Madajewski of Ocean View, N.J ., Betty Holcomb of Clendenin, W.Va., Maxine and Bill Rogers of Pinch; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Ollie Underwood of Tuscumbia, Ala., Mary Foreman of Walton and Betty Wayne of Summersville, W.Va. Her funeral service will be offered at noon Thursday, Oct 27, at the Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo, 644 South Shore Road, Palermo, N.J. Burial will Burial will follow in Seaside Cemetery, Palermo. Friends may call two hours prior to the service.
