Betty L. Miller, 69, of Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center, died there Monday, June I, of natural causes.

She was born July 12, 1928, in Independence, daugh- ter of Frank and Laura Mum ford Bauer.

She married Alvin Vaverka on April 4, 1947, and they were later divorced.

She married William Spettel in September of 1954. He died in 1976.

She then married Duane Miller in January of 1974 in Waterloo and they were later divorced.

Ms. Miller was employed at the Colony Club for almost 10 years.

Survived by: three sons, William Spettel and John Stevens, both of Waterloo, and Gary Spettel of Rochester, Minn.; three daughters, Judy Huntlcy and Betty Miller Shirley Conger, both of Waterloo, and Sherri Bergom of La Porte City; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Marvin and Richard Bauer, both of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: a son, Tcrri Meyer; and a great-granddaughter.

Services: 1 p.m. today at Kearns, Huisman-Sehumacher Chapel on Kimball, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
