Barbara Anne Rankin, 90, of Marietta, Ohio, died Thursday, February 13, 2020 with her children by her side. She was born on December 14, 1929 in Trimble, Ohio, to Ralph and Jessie Elizabeth Doughty Householder.
Barbara was a 1947 graduate of Marietta High School. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church for close to 70 years. Barbara was also a lifetime member of the Marietta Welfare League. Through the years, she loved to golf, play tennis and enjoyed boating with Doc aboard the Paw-ty.
She is survived by two children, and several siblings; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. William C. Rankin Jr., whom she married on August 13, 1950; and brother, Rodger Householder.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at the First Presbyterian Church in Marietta, with Pastor David Smith officiating. There will be a reception immediately following the service at the church. Private entombment will take place in East Lawn Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home.
